The other week, we gave you three fun snacks that are relatively healthy. Take note, we did acknowledge that FRUITS are the best snacks around. But, sometimes, something purely sugary, salty, or just plain fun is really in order.
So today, we’re giving you three more snack items (and a bonus) that are pretty healthy and yet keeps that “party in your mouth” feel:
Don’t think that the humble “Nata” is just a fruit salad fixture, like the Kaong. Nata de Coco is great mixed with sweet corn and a little evaporated milk, or you can even eat it on its own: Just pour from a can and into a cup and dig in. The great part about the snack is that it has close to ZERO calories, and is high in fiber. If you want to indulge in a yummy dessert after a meal but you don’t want to get fat, then Nata de Coco is a great alternative to cake or leche flan. If you want to substitute it for a meal, just make sure you get protein and a fruit serving, too. And by all means, having Nata de Coco for your snacks won’t make a major dent in your overall calorie consumption for the day.
